BODY

Why are we told that being thinner is more acceptable or more attractive than being bigger? Why don't Brands show a more diverse range of body shapes? Instead they focus on a slimmer woman. Why as young girls are all these things apparent at such an early age? We know that everyone is different and that we are made differently - most importantly, that we are all unique. But we still feel that our self worth is tied up in chasing that slimmer body. Why are we still struggling with this?
One size does not fit all - let's celebrate our differences.
Looking at social and print media nowadays, it is no wonder young girls are confused about their bodies, developing eating disorders and generally hating their bodies. They ask themselves why they don't look the same as what they see in the media. A lot of women these girls look up to as role models are not real women - they are photoshopped, tweaked, filtered and changed beyond recognition. They should be looking up to their mothers and grandmothers, their teachers and community leaders. But unfortunately, like you and me, these women, have not learnt how to love and accept themselves as they are. We ALL are yet to realise just what amazing women we are!
Start accepting your lumps and bumps, curves, wobbly bits, cellulite and stretch marks. We ALL have them. Let's make a difference together and start by changing our own mind sets of what beauty really is. If we start with our inner selves, slowly learning to love and accept ourselves, we will change OUR world.
